Photographing 18642 Mayall St for www.davidandcompany.co

When photographing a property, the goal is to transform it into something more than just a structure—to capture the spirit of a home. A true home is a sanctuary, one that radiates light, warmth, and love to those who live within. It’s essential to reflect this essence—a place of peace, honesty, and comfort, free from deception and chaos. A home is where life is shared and happiness flourishes, where hearts grow and dreams are nurtured.

This philosophy guides all my photography, whether I’m capturing the motion of life in 24 frames per second or freezing a single moment in time with a still shot. My aim is always to reveal the soul of the subject.

The owner of 18642 Mayall St recently undertook a thoughtful renovation, investing both resources and care to transform this property into a true home. Having once been the residence of the owner’s mother, the renovation was not just about updating the space, but honoring its history. This home is now a testament to love and attention, a place ready to welcome new memories.

The intention behind these images was to evoke a feeling of warmth and belonging—a place that truly feels like home. My hope is that these images have conveyed this heartfelt message. Rather than over-stylizing and editing them to the point where the property loses its cozy charm and becomes just another commercial space, I aimed to preserve the genuine warmth that makes it special.

In addition, it’s imperative to understand opportunity cost. When I am shooting images for my other company www.davidandcompany.co I know exactly what I am looking for as I will be the listing agent.

When it comes to shooting other people’s homes and spaces I would always set aside more time to discuss with the client what they would like to convey what their goal is and my vision. Both the client and photographer must have the same vision.
